I was pulling up to an intersection on a back country road in Texas, and a large group of cyclists was approaching from my right, turning left at the intersection and passing me going the way from which I had just come. Since they were obviously cutting the corner and using the whole intersection, I stopped about 20 ft back from the stop sign and put it in park, well on the right side of the road, and out of their way, figuring I’d be there a little while. Most of the group continued zipping around the corner just fine and as I chilled watching to my right for the last rider, one idiot, for no apparent reason decided he needed to pound on the left front part of my hood with his fist. Surprised me. Angered me. Made me lose any shred of respect for cyclers. I get the appeal of traveling from point a to b via bicycle. I get training for competitions. If we had more bike lanes I’d do it myself, but you need to self-police and stop the bad apples in your group that give you all a bad name. I could have easily decided to use the entire intersection to turn around and chase the idiot down, and a bicycle vs a pickup truck will lose every time. Blowing thru stop signs, failing to give right away, attacking cars for being cars, then you wonder why motorists dislike you.🙄

More cyclists should be ticketed. They come out every weekend to our rural community and we can’t even get to the store or Lord forbid someone had to get to the hospital. The roads have hills and curves so there are no safe places to pass, and the road goes on for many miles. Of course, some people do pass, and it makes it extremely dangerous for everyone. People have almost hit me head on while I’m just trying to get home. I love riding my bike and seeing others out enjoying the sunshine and getting their exercise. We have many very safe and well maintained and long bike trails here, both paved and very cool trails through the woods for the mountain bikers, but certain cyclist groups refuse to use those or even other roads with bike lanes where they could be safely passed. Instead they choose to entitle themselves to our only way to town and back to our homes and put everyone at risk so they can get their workout in on that specific stretch of road. People have died because of them. It needs to stop.😢

20+ year bike courier, I luv cops like this. They give you a lil verbal spray, red light, no helmet, red light and no helmet, whatever. As long as you shut ya mouth and don't be a smart arse, you ride away with your wallet unharmed. Mr 'I have to talk cos I've got a big mouth and have to have the last word' deserved EXACTLY what happened. I've given attitude to plenty, but only when they gave it to me and I thought might as well get my moneys worth. 🤷‍♂️🤣

Depends on the municipality. Some cities permit Cyclists to roll stop signs as long as they’re cautious. I assume this city is not one of them. FTR, I always stop at traffic lights. I always stop at stop signs if it’s a busy street. Leaders on group rides will usually clear an intersection and waive the group through. I don’t know what happened here or why the cop is so upset. But I am digging that guy’s Madone SSL. A real classic.

I would not get again, I have had nothing but issues with the stuff that I got! Case does not wireless charge unless you take phone out every time, the mount they sent that was supposed to work with the case did not when I called their customer service they told me to order a different mount but never said they would refund the other one so there's that, when I got to you Mount it didn't even stick to the dash literally glue was crap again called and was told cinnamon email with a picture and they would send me out another one third time's a charm I guess

The cop lectured them like the spoiled children they are and that one guy (as typical in a group of children that get caught doing something they shouldn't) tried to throw everyone under the bus by making himself look like he "didn't do it". Betcha the rest of the group was laughing at him later on.

All these cyclists never obey traffic laws. Just because your riding a bicycle doesn't give you the right to run stop signs go through red light's and cut people off. Ride responsible not stupidly.

Great video… do you ride with a saddle pack at all for tools/repair items? Also, what about your phone?? This is the dilemma Im running into. Id love to ditch the pack but riding with my phone and repair items is so much easier with a pack…

Hope the cyclist takes it to court and wins. The cop admits that he did not see whether or not the cyclist stopped at the stop sign, but calls him a liar for saying he stopped, and writes him a ticket anyway.
